Volunteers in Action

It takes many people to make North Fulton Community Charities successful. Here are some of the volunteers who currently give of their time.

Meet Volunteers Bob and Mary Ann Mary Ann came to volunteer with a group from North Point Community Church in 2007 during the church "Be Rich Campaign" and soon became a regular Thrift Shop volunteer. Bob spent many years on staff at North Point Community Church with responsibility for the Care Ministry. After he retired Bob found he had too much time on his hands and Mary Ann convinced him to come volunteer at NFCC with her. At first they worked together in the Thrift Shop, then Bob joined the volunteers in the Food Pantry. Recently Bob has been assisting Karen Rupp with updating our contacts at local grocery stores and restaurants.

A note from our volunteer Becky As a person who was affected by the economic downturn, I wanted to contribute to others because I felt I never had the time before. When I sent a message back in January to Karen Rupp, the volunteer coordinator, I expressed, “Even though I am not at this time able to help financially, I do have time. Want can I do to help?”. I was able to fulfill several needs such as picking up food from Target, working at the Roswell Woman‘s Showcase Home Tour and working in the food bank, which I do twice a week. Seeing the smiles and “thank you” from those who get help from NFFC has blessed me and made me realize how we need to think of each other during this difficult economic time! I would challenge others to look how they can help their community such as donating their time along with other commodities such as cereal, shampoo, cooking oil, sugar, baby wipes and gallon size zip-locks.
