Volunteers

Volunteers are essential to North Fulton Community Charities. Our small staff depends on volunteers to carry out our mission of providing emergency assistance to residents of North Fulton.

We welcome men, women and teens ages 13 years and older who are interested in volunteering on a regular or drop in basis. Teens age 13-15 years must be accompanied by an adult.

Come visit us for a tour of our facility and to find out ways you can get involved at NFCC. To schedule a visit or for additional information contact Karen Rupp.  email reciepient

Individual Volunteer Opportunities

We encourage individuals to volunteer at NFCC, offering them a rewarding experience as they serve those in need living in our community. The following are some ways you may become involved at NFCC through volunteering.

Food Pantry Food Pantry: Volunteers are needed to receive and sort food donations, stock shelves and distribute food to our clients. These volunteers generally work a four hour shift once a week. Substitutes are also needed. Hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Reception Desk: Volunteers are needed for registering clients, answering telephones, data entry, filing and assisting with special mailings. Food Pantry shifts and hours of operation apply.

Bilingual Help: Spanish speaking volunteers are needed on a regular basis at the reception desk and for our special programs.

Thrift Shop Thrift Shop: These volunteers will help receive donations, sort donations, stock and staff the Thrift Shop. Both regular and drop-in volunteers are welcome. Volunteer hours are the same as the Food Pantry with additional hours on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Pick ups: Volunteers are needed to pick up food from area grocery stores and restaurants on a regular basis or to fill in as a substitute. Occasionally we will need assistance with pick-ups of large food drives or special donations.

Special Programs: Volunteers are always needed to help with the special programs for clients at NFCC. These programs include Easter Baskets, Back to School, Warm Coat Day, and the Holiday Program. Specific information concerning volunteer opportunities for these will be available closer to the date of the actual program.    For more information...

Financial Support: At times NFCC will have a senior or family with long term monetary needs due to illness or disability. Volunteering to be a sponsor may include assisting with rent for a specified time, covering the cost of special medicines or helping with other monthly needs that cannot be met by other resources. Direct contact with the senior or family may or may not be advised. Decisions are made on a case by case basis.

NFCC volunteers are special people!   If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please contact Karen Rupp.  email reciepient
